Celebrating Scotland’s one and only GP

In this centenary year of the SACU – Scottish Auto Cycle Union – the fact is to be celebrated. But what was the GP? Was it car racing? Road racing on two wheels? Three wheels even? Nope, it was the 1978 250cc British MX GP and it was held at Kilmartin in Argyll on June 18, 1978. Organised by the Mid Argyll Motor Club it took place on the Castle Park track, a circuit not unknown to Scottish riders.

Now Graham Milne has set the ball rolling to celebrate this great Scottish event and bring as many of the riders who took part in it back to the track on June 23, 2013. If you were competing and want to go along again then send your details to Graham Milne on 07881 663818 or [email protected] or Margaret Allan on Margaret@mrpromotions.freeserve.co.uk tel 07885 440467.
