The Motor Cycle reported; “It would have been a more attractive venue, from a scenic point of view, at all events, than that used for the Bristol Motor Cycle Rally.”
The rally had been organised by the Bristol Evening World, in conjunction with local motorcycle traders, and attracted around 150 motorcycles for the various classes in the concours d’elegance.
The event took place with ‘…towering grey and red tree-clad cliffs [rising] on each side, while more than 230ft above, the famous Clifton suspension bridge dizzily spanned the gorge.’
