Welcome to your latest edition of Classic Racer. I sincerely hope that you enjoy it.
By now, you’ve probably noticed the Great Racing Motorcycles DVD on the cover of this magazine. This fine documentary from our friends at Duke shows 50 iconic racing motorcycles in fine detail. If you bought this DVD on its own it would normally cost you £16.99. From us to you, this month, it’s a gift.
Unusually for me when writing this column, I have some housekeeping to tell you about. Firstly about the free DVD we’re giving you this month, secondly to draw your attention to a Reader Survey we’re carrying out. You can find the details for this on the letters page of this issue of CR. For those of you who also ride motorcycles there’s an added incentive whereby if you take part in our survey you will be entered into a free draw with prizes of helmets and gloves on offer.
If you wouldn’t mind taking a few minutes to complete the survey, I’d really appreciate it. Myself and the whole CR team will use what you tell us to shape the next phase of the magazine. I want to continue our growth and ensure that Classic Racer continues to tick the right boxes for your classic racing needs. In advance, I’d like to thank you very much for taking part in this.
Thirdly, could I also ask you to take a long look at the Subscribe pages at the front and back of this magazine. We’ve got some great offers on at the moment and with the way the world works in publishing, I know that you can’t always find your copy of Classic Racer before they sell out on the newsstands (isn’t that true, Suzuki?). The only way to be sure of getting your issue of CR is to subscribe. The magazine will arrive with you sooner than it gets to the shops, it costs less per issue and we can offer great incentives from time to time too.
In short, it’s the best way to buy the magazine. With the amount of magazines on sale in local newsagents on the decline (and the number of local newsagents on the decline also) the one thing I don’t want to happen is that YOU can’t find your copy of CR when YOU want it – especially with the magazine going from strength to strength.
So, this is a plain and loud call to action from me to you as I ask you to please, if you’ve not done so already, have a look at our subscription offer on at the moment. It’s very good.
Thank you for reading this and thank you for buying this issue. Now let’s get on with the job at hand – which is loving classic racing in all its forms and enjoying amazing photographs and words about the heroes and iconic machines of the past.
Enjoy the ride.
Tony
