To finish the images of Colin Clark I conclude with the final three, which show the duel of the twins, at least one of which is a Triumph.

The look on the face of rider 7, which can be seen on the full-sized prints, is of absolute joy!

The second is a picture of a really chilled out looking rider, number 1, on a Velocette. Maybe the number 1 indicates a rider at the top end of the pecking order?

Finally, a Vincent which I think is a 500, number 22.

The interesting point is that it still has its tax disc fixed to the frame so was presumably road-legal.

These were still the days of riding to a circuit, competing, and riding home again!

Thank you for allowing me to share these images of Colin Clark.

They evoke a specific period in time when racing really could be for anyone, and the open face helmets allow us to see the effort, enthusiasm and joy on the faces of the riders of the day.
