After a gentle toe in the water north of the border last year, the experienced Classic Bike Shows team is back with a bang in 2013. By listening to feedback from visitors, clubs and traders alike they have put together a great package which appeals to all motorcycling tastes.
The one thing mentioned after the ‘what would you like to see?’ question we asked last year was more entertainment, oh, and less rain too. Well, the former we could do something about and boy, have the team pulled all the stops out!
One of last year’s most popular attractions, the classic scramble, is back by popular demand and will also run for a longer time on both days of the show.
New for 2013 is the fantastic Wall of Death, making a rare appearance in Scotland, along with incredible stunts from the superb Vertical Trix team. And when you’ve told your mates how easy it looks to do those tricks, you’ll be able to try it for yourself on the Extreme Wheelie machine. Staying with the stunt theme, check out some with a difference from Danny Butler Stunt Bikes, plus there’s also a mini quad track to keep the youngsters entertained.
But the real first for the show is a round of the Scottish Supermoto Championship. The bikes will be out on the purpose-built track both days, with the championship races held on the Sunday. If you’ve never watched supermoto before, be prepared to be impressed with the breathtaking slideways action.
Add to all this entertainment, trade stands, autojumble, new and classic motorcycles, incredible club stands and not one, but two great guests of honour in the shape of father and son TT winners Bill and Ian Simpson, and we should have a weekend to remember.
