Steve said: “I have been thinking about doing this challenge for some time and decided that while doing it I could raise some money for a worthwhile cause. I couldn’t find a more worthwhile cause than Acorns Children’s Hospice. I’ll be riding from sunrise at around 4am and finishing around sunset at 9.30pm.”
Acorns Children’s Hospice provides care and support for children and young people who have life limiting or life threatening conditions and provides support for their families. It costs £750 per day for each child’s care and Acorns relies on the community to fund the majority of its activities.
Carole Crowe, community fundraising manager at Acorns, added: “The support of local people like Steve in raising funds is absolutely vital to ensuring we can continue to provide our services to children and families when they most need it.”
