An unfortunate date clash with the Donington Classic Festival meant that the Lansdowne series was not part of the programme, but the club noted its long heritage in other ways.
The Upper Paddock was given over to displays by a number of clubs showing bikes from the vintage and classic eras. In the Lower Paddock, Colin Seeley made a return to his old stamping ground. The occasion was used to mark 60 years since Colin had first competed at Brands Hatch. He was scheduled to be joined by a number of other ‘past masters’ over the weekend and had the loan of a Seeley G50 and Dieter Busch BMW outfit to demonstrate on track.
Parade sessions were scheduled on both days with a real cross-section of bikes, including the regular contingent from Brooklands Museum. This reinforced the link with Gordon Cobbold, an enthusiastic Bemsee President for many years who had gained a Brooklands Gold Star as early as 1927.
