Other machines in the haul include a pair of very rough BSA Beagles (known as ‘Starlites’ in the USA), a BSA B44, a Norton Electra needing a thorough nut-and-bolt restoration, a tidy Triumph T100C and an immaculate 1967 Bonneville.

• 190 miles in 24 hours – on a mobility scooter!
Poole racing marshal Steve Tarrant, 53, who lost a leg in a tragic motorsport accident in 2000, achieved a new world record at the Goodwood motor circuit on May 17-18 after covering no fewer than 190.2 miles in 24 hours on a TGA Breeze S4 GT mobility scooter, stopping only for battery changes.
At the start of the marathon, the scooter was deliberately driven over a bed of nails to demonstrate the effectiveness of a new TGA sealant which is pre-injected into TGA scooter tyres.
Steve now intends to focus on giving talks about motorsport and disability while planning a new world record attempt next year – driving a mobility scooter from John o’ Groats to Land’s End in the shortest time ever.
