CMM and Classic Racer go racing!

Some-time CMM contributor Rob Bean is going racing with his old Trumpet – and his race bike build and escapades will be featured in CMM and Classic Racer.

The bike is a 1997 Triumph T509 Speed Triple and Rob says: “My T509 Speed Triple has ‘fat bars’, better brake pads, braided hoses, sticky tyres so I did a couple of track days at Cadwell Park to see how it went. In fact, it went well enough that I am now going to turn it into a race machine to compete in Bemsee Thunderbike Sport class for a few rounds. That will mean a fork internal upgrade, a race shock, lightweight wheels, decent exhaust, race bodywork and losing everything it doesn’t need before the first race of the season.”

With part one of the story coming up in the April issue of CMM – we’re now looking for help sourcing parts. Contact editor Bertie at: bsimmonds@mortons.co.uk if you want to be part of the exciting project.
