Former motor trader Banks retired to Spain in 1978 but soon started another business – this time in boat maintenance. It was sufficiently successful to fund his passion for collecting and restoring motorcycles (for use rather than show), some of which he is now selling to make room for new ones. Among the highlights are a 1915 Royal Enfield 8hp Combination, 1937 Ariel Square Four and a 1932 BSA Blue Star.
Other machines already consigned include a 1939 Brough Superior SS80, a 1952 LEF 125cc and a 1951 Vincent Rapide Series C, showing just 67,000 miles from new.
