This is thought to be the first event of its kind aimed solely at riders of the older BMWs since 1985, and almost certainly will not be repeated.
The run is being planned as an enjoyable holiday rather than an endurance event, and it will take up to a week for riders to wend their way northward along the more scenic roads.
