Now, there will be the chance to see one of these iconic machines exactly as it left Honda’s race headquarters in 2007.
The Honda will form one of the key exhibits at this year’s Thundersprint which will be held over the weekend of May 10/11 at the beautiful Darley Moor circuit, Derbyshire.
Phil Morris is bringing the HM Plant Fireblade as part of his fantastic display of historic race bikes which will be taking centre stage at the Thundersprint.
Phil said: “The HM Plant bike we have is one of the 2007 factory machines. It took Ian Hutchison to third place in the TT that year.
“By a series of lucky chances, the bike remained exactly as it left Honda’s headquarters at Louth in Lincolnshire – even down to the original TT scrutineering stickers.
“We did a very thorough mechanical check on the bike when we acquired it but otherwise it is exactly as it finished the 2007 season – paint chips, scratches and everything else you would expect from a working race machine.
“We’ve only had the bike since October and it’s already proving a hit with our guest riders. There will no doubt be a queue to have a gallop on it at the Thundersprint.”
