Owner Richard Wain-Heapy said: “The cafe is a place for bikers to meet. We’re open every day except Mondays and we’re becoming popular with bikers on a ride out. We’re trying to recreate the spirit and feel of the Sixties and Seventies where riders would meet up at their favourite haunt.
“These places had a relaxed laid back atmosphere which is missing from the modern interpretations which have no character at all but are just plastic facsimiles of what used to be. So we converted a 36ft coach just for the job.”
And it’s proving a success with a broad range of motorcyclists with machines from every motorcycling era popping in to enjoy a cuppa. Adrenaline keeps a well stocked showroom (60 classic machines when we visited) and its resident mechanic is on hand to give free advice on Saturdays.
The Jailhouse Cafe and Adrenaline Motorcycles are on Charlwood Road, Ifield, Crawley RH11 0JZ.
