Archer, who was visiting from Spain, rode two of his DKW mounts from the 1950s – a 250cc model and a 350cc model – and spent some time remembering his past race glories, many of which he attained riding these motorcycles.
Les displayed a particular affinity for the lithe 250cc machine, as did fellow motorcycling icon Steve Parrish who was also visiting for the day. The museum acquired the machines a number of years ago, and they have since been expertly restored.
