John will bring a stunning collection of his racing cars and motorcycles to create a special F1 Paddock. There will also be a ticketed talk with John to celebrate his racing career, including an autograph signing session.
Also on display will be Michael Schumacher’s F1 2006 Ferrari and the public can have a go at a timed F1 wheel change in The Pit Stop Challenge, with the fastest change winning a prize. The Vintage Mobile Cinema will also show a collection of motorfilms, including a short documentary on John Surtees and, as a special feature, Dream Rides offers a chance for members of the public to ride in the car of their dreams on a 10 mile trip in return for a donation to charity.
Over 200 classic cars and motorcycles will be on display, from pioneers to future classics along with the Ferrari OC, plus there’s Lotus’ 60th anniversary, 40 years of the Sprite, MGB’s 50t and the Cortina!
Theme for the show is Festival of the Forties and there’ll be a Mk.9 Spitfire on show, plus if you’ve ever dreamed of flying a Spitfire, then have a go in the simulator courtesy of Spitsim. Jive Swing will be offering free dance lessons, as well as putting on a stunning cabaret of jitterbug and lindy hop. Live music will be provided by The Three Belles, a 1940s vocal trio inspired by The Andrews Sisters, as well as the legends that are The Gents, while Viv the Spiv will host and compere. There’s plenty of opportunity to get into that vintage look too with The Vintage Hair Lounge, Eye Spy glasses and the Vintage Revival Clothing Company, and there will be wonderful collection of military vehicles, an Anderson shelter and so much more besides.
