Just in case you missed the announcement, Alan Wright has done a deal with CDB publisher Mortons that will enable the best shows team in the business to help grow the event in the future.
The show will be the Classic Dirtbike Show, though Wrighty is still involved as we couldn’t let all that experience go to waste.
Venue is the same – the Telford International Centre in Shropshire – and the date for 2015 is February 21-22.
The halls will be packed full of the best of off-road bikes and bits from all eras. We’ll still be having themes and there are several anniversaries to celebrate in 2015. It will be 40 years since Martin Lampkin was crowned world trials champion, 40 years since Vic Allan became British 250/500 MX champion. And then there’s the Manx decade – Yup, it’s 50 years since the first Manx ISDT, 40 years since the last and there was one slipped in the middle there. We’re looking for bikes to represent these various anniversaries.
At CDB we aren’t all knowing, but like the idea of helping anniversaries be celebrated, so let us know if your club or series has a special anniversary.
We’ve a bunch of star guests lined up from all aspects of the sport, with Vic Allan and Mick Grant being on hand all weekend and at our dinner on the Saturday evening, while Martin Lampkin will be interviewed during Saturday about his championship year.
