? More on Island Racer 2014
With 20 wins, 41 podiums and the outright lap record (a title he’s held and improved on since 2004), John McGuinness is not only a modern great of the Isle of Man TT Races, he’s a great of the entire 107-year history of the event. Fact.
No matter what, where or who the challenge comes from, the Morecambe man continually has the answers. But as impressive as his achievements on the Mountain Course are, it’s arguably his demeanour off it that has maintained his status as the most popular rider of his era.
Modest, polite, amiable and humorous, the 42-year-old understands everything about the TT – the history, the fans, the riders, the atmosphere, the course and the Island itself – and it’s no lie to say he has time for everyone. So come along and meet the great man at the book signing in Douglas. You won’t be disappointed!
